I actually DO need an iPhone July 26, 2008

As I was preparing to meet Tanya for lunch at the Argo Cafe and packing my bag, I realized that I carry all this equipment everywhere I go:
– My laptop (almost dead, but still, working somewhat)
– My digital camera
– My Flip video camera
– My iPod

For all the fuss I’ve made about NOT buying an iPhone and being outraged at the costs, turns out that I actually DO need one. Simply because I need to stop carrying all this equipment. Also, because it would make my life so much easier if I could have Twitter on the road. *sigh* More money to be shelled out, darn it!

The one thing that deters me is definitely the 3 year contract with Rogers. *sigh* We’ll see what I do with that. But if you already have an iPhone, you can leave me a comment and tell me all the nice features it has. I already know about the camera, the included Twitterrific app, the fact that uses 3G when you don’t have wifi, the albums feature, the GPS and Google directions (but the only problem is that this is not dynamic). Anyhow, what are your favorite applications or uses you are giving to your iPhone?

I want an iPhone too! But it’s quite out of our budget at the moment; we’re planning a big trip to the Philippines in January.

I’m at Calhoun’s now awaiting my order of perogies so let a girl know if we are still on for a blogathoners meetup =)

I hear ya, having to clip an iPod and a phone to my side is really annoying. It’d be so much easier if they were just one thing

You do need one! You truly do.

I picked mine up today. I lurv it. But man, I am going to be shelling out so much money a month. Scary

I love my iPhone ๐Ÿ˜€

I love everything about it, except the battery life…

The main Apps I use are Twitterrific (I paid for the premium version), Facebook, Remote, Pownce and now the WordPress app since I switched my blog back to WordPress. I’ve also used the UrbanSpoon application to find a restaurant near me one day.

I also have my iPhone packed with applications to keep me occupied on the bus or if I’m waiting somewhere. I have been playing a lot of Free Sudoku and Cube Runner. I also bought Super Monkey Ball from Sega and the FileMagnet application which lets me take pdfs and other files/documents with me, it syncs automatically with the application on my mac over WiFi and is great for taking stuff with you.

Basically, there’s tons of good stuff to say about the phone and all these apps. Someone could start a blog just about iPhone/iPod Touch apps and have enough content to last them a year or two with just the apps that are in the store at the moment.

Jodi, I know what you mean about the crazy bill. I’m looking at about $105/month for mine.. it really hurts but to me it’s quite worth it ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not willing to renew my contract with Rogers unless they just _give_ me the phone.

iPhone free + 3 Yr Contract then I might consider ๐Ÿ™‚ I haev 1 yr left on my current contract and I am paying $50-70 a month for it.

For the iPhone people are reporting that after 3 yrs you would have paid over $4000 for it ๐Ÿ™‚
